In this paper, we provide an overview of the current digital health tools in heart failure that hold promise to address the gaps in diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring across the heart failure care continuum. Digital health tools, including mobile health (mHealth) apps, telehealth, wearable devices, AI-based electronic health records (EHRs), and machine learning models, are increasingly being integrated into heart failure care. These tools can aid in early diagnosis, treatment optimization, and ongoing monitoring.
In addition, we discuss the main challenges to adoption of digital health solutions as well as potential solutions to these challenges. The challenges in adopting digital health tools, such as data privacy concerns, interoperability issues, and the need for sustainable practices. Solutions like federated learning and blockchain technology are proposed to address these challenges.
