In a landmark medical achievement, the Ministry of Health announced the successful completion of the world’s first remote robotic surgery in the field of gynecological oncology.
The groundbreaking procedures were carried out by the Gynecological Oncology Unit at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital. Three complex surgeries were successfully performed on Kuwaiti patients diagnosed with uterine cancer, utilizing remote robotic surgical ligation technology — a major advancement in modern surgical practice. The success also opens opportunities for training the next generation of surgeons in robotic techniques and fostering collaboration among robotic surgery specialists across hospitals and medical disciplines.
