Vietnam is positioning itself to leverage emerging opportunities in precision medicine through closer collaboration with Canada, a country renowned for its expertise in genomic data analysis and AI applications in healthcare. With a large and genetically diverse population, Vietnam offers unique potential for developing personalised treatment strategies, while Canada brings decades of experience in compiling and interpreting genomic datasets.
The prospect of collaboration was highlighted at a recent seminar organised by the Canada–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in Montreal, coinciding with the Canadian Government’s launch of its 2025 Precision Health Initiative. The initiative seeks to integrate genomic information with electronic health records, environmental data and lifestyle factors, enabling healthcare providers to predict disease risks, customise medications and optimise treatment plans.
