A CII–EY HealthTech Survey 2025 reveals that IT innovation budgets in Indian hospitals are set to rise by 20 to 25per cent over the next 2 to 3 years, with nearly half already allocating 20 to 50per cent of IT spend to digital innovation and AI, prioritising clinical documentation (72per cent), decision support (64per cent) and imaging (60per cent). In 2026 and beyond, the focus will shift from stand-alone apps to care models that are integrated and based on intelligence Key frontiers include: Ambient intelligence capturing clinical encounters with minimal manual input, Predictive analytics flagging deterioration or bottlenecks early, Virtual care platforms extending specialist reach to tier‑2/3 cities.

Indian Healthcare future success will depend on governance structures, interoperability standards, data security, and being in line with national health priorities, AI should not be a separate system; it should be a clinical enabler that supports efficiency and fairness while keeping human judgment at the heart of healthcare.
