  Highlights of Workload Reduction  

The ICD-10 Artificial Intelligence Coding Assistance System incorporates principles of human factors engineering to minimize interface switching by end users, integrating seamlessly with the Hospital Information System (HIS). The system emphasizes enhanced Ul and UX design to reduce visual fatigue. An AI-powered "Complete Coding" function has been added to the discharge summary module within the HIS. This feature is presented through an intuitive pop-up web window, requiring no additional system training. Physicians can simultaneously document medical records and view Al-recommended ICD-10 codes alongside the discharge summary within the same interface. Users have the option to expand or collapse the rationale behind each Al-recommended code, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the patient's clinical course and facilitating accurate code selection. With its user-friendly interface design, the system has achieved a user satisfaction rate of 80 to 90% following implementation. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we have continued implement fully automated and intelligent laboratory systems to ensure high quality and efficient services.

This project is based on the National Health Insurance (NHI) database and aims to establish a machine learning-driven decision support model that provides diagnostic coding recommendations.
