The "AiGiA-Smart Pharmacist APP" was jointly developed by the AiGiA Lab for Smart Care in collaboration with Taipei Veterans General Hospital to use artificial intelligence and natural language to integrate the massive datasets in Taiwan Food and Drug Administration, the National Health Insurance Administration and Taipei Veterans General Hospital into a high-definition drug identification database. With AiGiA drug recognition device, patients or caregivers can simply use their mobile phone cameras to recognize look-alike pills and capsules. All they have to do is connect the device to their phones, put the drug into the device, and tap the app. Information such as active ingredient, indication, warnings, directions and other information about this particular drug will be displayed. The integrated database incorporates about 18,000 drugs and supports multiple language settings, including Chinese, English, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Malay.
