Timely administration of medicines in hospital is essential, especially when it becomes to patients' urgent condition or surgery interventions. However, it takes a lot of time and a tremendous amount of manpower to deliver the medication from central pharmacy to different wards. In order to solve this problem, pneumatic tube delivery system which can transport medication between pharmacy and wards, was upgraded by combining RFID and bar code tracking systems. This smart pneumatic tube delivery system has replaced most of manual transportation of medication to ensure the process quick, accurate and cost saving.
