The ambitious plan to save more than nine in 10 cancer patients from death

Updated

The Vision 2030 report, to be released on Monday by the alliance and Minderoo Foundation, provides the roadmap for this new era of personalised, affordable and gentler cancer care in which all patients have access to the best therapies, technologies, networks and social supports, regardless of their cancer type, geographical location or socio-economic status.

The six tenets of the Vision 2030 report

  1. Patient-centred cancer care
  2. Expanding clinical trials via telehealth to all patients regardless of geographical location
  3. Access to genomic sequencing to match patients with targeted therapies
  4. Integrate artificial intelligence within the healthcare system that could rapidly process immense amounts of data on cancer detection
  5. A centralised cancer registry that would aggregate comprehensive information on access to care, survival trends, variation in how patients are treated and genomic data
  6. Affordable, equitable and fast access to the best therapies and technologies for all cancer patients, including provisional access to drugs not subsidised on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
