The Indonesian government has launched a new initiative to simplify the licensing process for healthcare professionals, aiming to improve access to medical care, particularly in remote areas. The initiative was announced by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin during the signing of a Joint Ministerial Decree in Jakarta, covering the implementation of healthcare licensing through the National Digital Public Services Mall (MPPDN).
To obtain a license through the MPPDN, healthcare professionals need only submit their registration letter and proof of training completion.
Automation makes the licensing process faster, more transparent, auditable, and traceable, which prevents illegal licensing practices. The process is now faster due to standardized digital documents, guaranteed legality with electronic signatures, and uniform procedures across regions, the digital licensing process takes a maximum of five days.
