Ethiopia has taken a significant step toward strengthening its health systems with the launch of the Ethiopian Digital Health Network (EDHN), aligning with broader continental efforts to accelerate digital transformation in healthcare.
The initiative forms part of the Africa Health Security and Sovereignty (AHSS) Agenda, where digital transformation has been identified as a critical pillar for improving primary healthcare delivery, enhancing health intelligence, and building more resilient and trusted health systems across the continent.
The EDHN is designed to provide a coordinated platform for leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic alignment, helping to reduce fragmentation in digital health initiatives while fostering collaboration among key actors in the sector.
The network is also expected to support the development of communities of practice and strengthen linkages between national and continental digital health priorities.
