DiMe releases new connected health playbooks for developers and providers

Updated

The Digital Medicine Society's two new age-in-place guides aim to address a disconnect between product design and patient needs.

The society's new research report, Aging in Place of Choice with Connected Health Technologies, highlights issues, such as how small screens and app overload impact patients with physical limitations and the added operational burden placed on care partners.

The playbooks then address the day-to-day realities of older adults and their care partners, which DiMe says limits integration into care ecosystems and fuels business models that may not support sustainable adoption.

Written for healthcare providers and technology developers, their guidance could enhance product development, technology design and adoption.

After synthesizing interview and survey findings into themes that directly informed the AgeTech developer and healthcare provider playbooks, and the information gleaned from workshops and literature reviews, DiMe has developed the guidance that it hopes can nurture the age-in-place health tech industry to surpass existing barriers.
