Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital

2024 National Healthcare Quality Award

  Highlights of Workload Reduction

1. We have designed a smart rehabilitation fast track service and integrated our rehabilitation scheduling and billing management systems. After full implementation, approximately 10 minutes are saved per patient when comparing the number of scheduled examinations and the process of each

rehabilitation session. Waiting time at the front desk is also reduced by approximately 3 minutes compared to the time required before implementation.

2. Each rehabilitation therapist now saves roughly 1 to 2 hours of administrative work daily, while each front desk staff member saves approximately 0.1 hours of processing time per day, resulting in a total savings of 6,923 working hours per year.

3. Since implementation, satisfaction among the rehabilitation staff has increased by 9.62 points.

This project introduces smart technology to optimize rehabilitation processes, aiming to improve appointment and examination scheduling efficiency, reduce waiting times, and enhance the patient experience. Ultimately, it promotes age and disability friendly care, fostering a more inclusive rehabilitation environment.
